What State did you grow up in: Michigan

College: Michigan State University - History Major

Why did you choose to come to North Dakota? I came to North Dakota 3 summers ago to a state I couldn't imagine living or working in, but I figured if Theodore Roosevelt enjoyed his summers here then so would I.

What other Parks have you worked at?
I have worked seven seasons for the National Park Service, 3 at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and 4 at Rock Creek Park.

What National Park, Monument, or Historic site is your favorite and why? I am a huge Civil War Dork and enjoy visiting battlefields. I loved volunteering at Fredricksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park where my ancestor fought and was killed.

What programs will you be presenting this summer?
Hikes - Birds of a Feather Visit Parks Together (Bird Migration)
- The Cradle of Conservation (Elkhorn Ranch)
Talks - Wilderness Warrior (Theodore Roosevelts Conservation Ethic)
- Exploring the Universe (Night Sky Navigation)
Evening Programs - StarTrek (The wonders of the Night Sky)

Why did you become a Park Ranger?
I originally wanted to be a teacher, but as I visited National Parks, I thought who is a better teacher than a Park Ranger. Park Rangers work with children and adults and have the opportunity to show visitors what they have only read about or seen pictures of before visiting the Park.
