Knife River Indian Village National Historic Site

Knife River Indian Village National Historic Site is located a 1/2 mile north of Stanton, ND and was established in 1974 to preserve and interpret the archeological and historic remains of Plains Indian culture. This 1800 acre unit of the National Park System offers a variety of educational and recreational opportunities. Facilities include a visitor center with a sales outlet, museum exhibits, a full scale earthlodge, and hiking trails to the village sites. Interpretive services include guided tours, cultural demonstrations, and special events such as the Northern Plains Indian Culture Fest. Knife River Indian National Village Historic Site is open year round.
